I have been in the last few days, needless to say in a slump. My desk looks a bomb went off, or wait, you know those cartoons that show an office desk with the files piled to the ceiling?
Ya that's me. I have also been thinking about different ways to bring in more of my fine arts techniques. So I have been freshening up on those. I am doing something totally out of my norm right now for ScrapGals DT call...it could work out or be total scrapper suicide.
I know everyone knows what their scrapping style is. But honestly I can not describe myself!?! When asked I draw a huge blank. Moths can fly out of my head and they would be more useful than what I am thinking. I guess you can call me..... see there I go again. If anyone can tell me I would appreciate it. :)
Speaking of ScrapGal, I am going to be featured on their BLOG this month with a couple of tutorials. First one will be on the 9th, so keep a look out. It's my first one online so I am very excited and honored. The girls over there are a blast and very talented. They have a few activities going on at the site this month. A Pink Paislee Challenge/Contest. Also a Picnic. The first challenge is up so head on over and pick from the MENU. I have started thinking about mine. I kind of got a challenging menu lol. The Picnic will have different challenges all month and a prize is up for grabs.
Ok well the whole point of my post today was inspiration. Where do you pull yours from? How do you document it? And how often does it really happen?
Like the other day at a restaurant drive-Thur,I noticed a poll that had a bunch of stickers on it. That same resturant about 15 years ago would always have bands' stickers or radio station stickers and stuff, stuck all over the drive-thru window. It was like the "THING" to do when ever you went there. The owners never seemed to mind. Well since then they have remodeled, the window is gone and now there is the pol. They never seem to be cleaned off. Only replaced with a new layer. It caught my eye, maybe because of the history behind it. Or the art it made me think about when I saw it. I also found inspiration from " So You Think You can Dance" last night. The styles of dance made me think of different things. Like Hip Hop made me think of graffiti writing, Jazz made me think of exuberant colors, the contemp. gave me the feel of love and strength. Today I found inspiration in some simple stitching rings found on Kelly's blog. I so want to do this in my house now. I find insiration in my fellow scrappers and artists.
What inspires you? Let me know and I'll draw a name for a vintage RAK....I came across a box full of old sheet music, my uncle had and such. I'll post a pic later today. LOL and if you can tell me what style I am I'll put your name in twice. ;) Have a great Thursday.
