Virtual Gallery Walk Day Four....

Well today is the day for me to share my art piece and my reasonings behind it.

I am HUGE on finding inspiration around me. Inspiration doesn't always have to come from fellow or past artists--although they do dish a heavy dose of creativity but I wanted to show how you can take the most unusual sources to create art after. I find symbolism, emotion, and a ton of inspiring material in music. Music is as free to interpretation as is the arts and crafts field. I chose the music of Johnny Cash to create an art piece after. The songs I chose to use all have an underlying tone of overcoming your battles, your inner demons, and the judgmental eyes of others. Nothing can hold you down, no one can pull you down and stifle your dreams...unless you allow them. Don't let them! Fight for your dreams, for your goals, for your future.

Here are my sources of inspiration. Make sure to adjust your speakers incase the music is too loud ;)

And here is the outcome....

"Break Through"

I left the canvas, including her, more neutral. I wanted to show how her urge to not give up and to break away from the negativity is the warm light that guides her.

This piece is painted on a 36"x36" canvas. I used mists, Montana Can Paint Pens, Golden Acrylics/Molding Paste, a dress pattern, raw linen, wood puzzle pieces(from Q's toy box shhh), Prima/Donna Downey mask, Jacquard Lumiere 3D, and Beacon Adhesives Fast Finish Decoupage.

Thank you for joining me here, now please make sure to check out the amazing work by...
