Jamie Dougherty Designs: Bloom Birds in Flight!!!!

Playing with Prima's Gate fold album, Jamie's NEW Bird Stamps, the new Royal Menagerie flowers and Prima's Paintable's. I really went a little crazy this month and I couldn't stop embellishing. Lol!!!!

Fresh from Prima's Art Venture Canada my mind was wheeling with ideas and with so much product I could sink a battle ship!!!! (The goodie bags and kits really are that amazing) A little inspiration was all I needed and this project came to life. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Step 1

Taking Franks Memory Hardware Gate Fold Album and some off white Acrylic paint I painted all the edges on the outside of the Album.

Step 2

Once paint was completely dry I took my Tim Holtz distress ink in Vintage Photo and distressed all the edges.

Step 3

Fussy Cutting!!!! Yup not always that pleasant but the end result is always stunning. Taking Prima's new Enchanted Aviaries Paintable's I cut out the bird house. Then I cut it perfectly in half. Gluing down each side on the front of my Album, so when I closed the book it would look like one piece again.

Step 4

Stamping Jamie's NEW Bird stamps!!!!!! The best part!!! I stamped them once onto my Royal Menagerie paper then cut them out. I decided they needed a little dimension. so I stamped them a second time using a different designer paper from the same line and just cut out the pieces I wanted to use. Gluing them just on the edges so I could bend the outside edges making them look dimensional.

Step 5

Flowers! Flowers! Flowers!!!

Adding my Royal Menagerie flowers, stamens, leaves and berries to both sides of the album starting from the bottom working my way up. I stopped about half way up wanting to leave room for my birds!!!!!

Step 6

Using pop dots I added my birds, popping them up and making them fly!!!!

Step 8

Taking my 6x6 pad of Royal Menagerie paper line I measured the sides and back of the Album, then taking my tape runner I taped on the paper, leaving a little of an edge so you can see my distressed ink & paint.
