Creating In Faith

Many of you now know that I recently came out with a new line called Creating In Faith. I would like to thank Prima Marketing Inc. for allowing me to release this collection with them and share my love for my faith as well for art. Many stores now have it in stock but if you haven't had the chance to see the collection, the full line will be at CHA! I am so excited to share with you all the possibilities of this collection and will be demoing during the show! Mother Tag by Lisa

Hi everyone! It's Lisa on the blog today and I have a tag to share with you featuring Jamie's Mother Bloom Girl and a few of her new stencils, too. This stamp is so beautiful and so detailed. It's just stunning. I loved working with it and putting my own spin on it.

(I really wanted to catch the coloring on her face for my main shot. I think she looks so beautiful and almost sad. But I love it.)

Here is what I did to create her:

1 - 2. Stamp image twice onto watercolor paper using archival ink. (Second stamped image can only be of the floral portion of her head.)

3. Using watercolor pencils (or other medium of choice) color in the image.

4. Fussy cut the floral portion of the second stamped image and water color as well.

6. Apply foam adhesive on the back of the floral piece.

7. - 8. Using #10 Tag (4 1/8 " x 8 1/2")  and  Gelatos® in the following colors: Watermelon, Buttercream, Peach, and Acqua Dolce create background. Blend colors into each other using fingers or lightly damp rag.

9.Apply Crackle Paste in clear over the left side of the tag and let dry.

10. Stamp sentiment (which is included with the Mother Bloom Girl) in a black pigment ink, emboss with clear embossing powder, cut apart. Apply small foam adhesive to the back. Set aside.

11.  Using Jamie's Circle Stencils (medium) and Gold Texture Luxe™ paste create sun beam in upper right hand corner of tag.

12. Using the same paste dab over the crackled portion of the tag.

13.Apply Jamie's Criss Cross stencil to the right side of tag and using a white pigment pen, create random dots.

14. Go around edges of tag using Salty Ocean Distress Ink.

15. Apply more foam squares to the back of the entire cut out image. and apply to the tag front. Also apply sentiment at this time.

16. Highlight hair, eyes, and flowers with Wink of Stella, if desired.

You are exceptionally amazing!

Hello beauties!

Zoey's here for a quick and easy masculine TAG you can make using the brand new amazing Quentin Stamp!! I always wanted a male stamp and this is just perfect!

What I used to create this card is :

- Rub Ons Just Corina (#820978 - Retired)

- Art Basics 3D Matte Gel (#961398)

- Art Basics Heavy Gesso (#961442)

- Art Basics Modeling Paste (#961411)

- Color Bloom Spray (#573881 ,  #573836, #573805,#573829, #573843, #573799, #573928)

Other: 

- Manila paper

- Old page book

- Washi Tape

I started by covering a piace of Manila paper, cut into a TAG shape, with washi tape and some other scrap papers I had lying over my desk. 

I also covered the entire surface with strips of old paper book page. To glue the papers down I used the Art Basics 3D Matte Gel then I dried it with the heat gun.

When the TAG was dry I added a wash of Art Basics Heavy Gesso and water to tone down the very yellowish paper, I again dry the TAG with the heat gun.

I used the 6x6 Stencil Spark and Art Basic Modeling Paste to add some texture, this time I let it air dry because I prefer the result. I find that when I let the Modeling Paste dry by air the edge are more sharp.

I used the Art Basics 3D Matte Gel again as a glue -- this time I glued down some gears I had on my stash. I used plenty of the 3D Matte Gel because I wanted to be extremely sure that the gears were not moving once dry.

Then I added a bunch of Bloom Spray, I added them randomly and helped them mixing by adding also a bit of water. I moved the tag around without worrying if there were some drips. I think they add even more texture!

I dried again perfectly the tag and again I added some gesso. I added gesso because I wanted a "light' spot where to add my Quentin! I stamped it using Archival Ink and then with Distress Markers I colored his lovely face.

I stamped the sentiment over another scrap paper I had over my desk and added some stickers to complete the sentiment....

And here's the finished tag!

Bloom Boy!! Oh My!!!

Bloom Boy!!!!!!!!! Say what!?!?!? 

I am so excited for this! Jamie's NEW Bloom Boy "Quentin" is so very handsome! He's a steampunk dream with gears, bow tie, monocle and the alway fun moustache! Lol! He is seriously so fun to color!!! 

I decided to use a technique I learned a while back at a mixed media journal class. It's so cool, using a paper bag and a few of your brown distress ink pads. You crumple up your brown paper bag getting lots and lots of crumples in it! ( Is "crumples" a word?!?! Lol!) Then I un-crumple it, laying it back as flat as it can. I take my favourite brown distress ink pads I drag them across the bag. The distress inks pick up and highlights all the creases in the bag, once the ink has dried, I then take Glossy Gel Medium and paint your bag covering it all. This adds a glossy look making your paper bag look like leather. I love it. Next I grabbed a piece of Tin Foil from my pantry. That's right just plan regular Tin Foil, I cut a piece off the roll and put it inside an embossing folder pressing the folder closed the design gets pushed right into the tin foil. It works perfectly. Using a heavy gel medium I glued down my glossy paper bag onto a large tag and layering I glued down my tin foil on the bottom half of my tag. Then I just kept on layering, Prima's wood ATC's added some fun dimension. Sticking with the Steampunk theme I used Junkyard Findings clock faces, Ingvild Bolme's ceiling light bulbs and Jean plates. Prima really makes embellishing to much fun. Adding Glossy Accents to "Quentin's" monocle and bow just added the finishing touches! I hope you all enjoy this tag as much as I enjoyed making it!!!!! Here is a project i created using some of the newest Bloom Girls and Westcott tools. Even though the new Bloom stamps are a larger size, Their still perfect for those cards and tags. When I designed the stamps I still wanted the focal point of the stamp to fit on a standard card or tag. You have all the beautiful detail but now the stamps can create wonderful projects beyond the page. Home decor, Art Journaling, clothing ect.

I used the Free Spirit, Summer, and Jing stamps on Julie Nutting paper tags. 

I added a bit of color with watercolor pencils, Winks of Stella brush pens, and Color Bloom sprays. 

I used a Westcott craft knife to cut some of the accent pieces of each tag. I then lifted those areas to create a 3D look. 

You don't have to be a colic master, or fine artist to use the Bloom Collection. That is the beauty of the line, you can be yourself. You'll find a Bloom Girl that fits who you are.
